About Kimberly Lavelle
My name is Kimberly Lavelle. What separates my portrait work from that of other artists is the intent with my work to capture and honor the unique spirit of each pet as I see it shining through their eyes. I work from photos and thoroughly enjoy capturing the emotions, insight and quirkiness of animals in all of my artwork.
Two of my pieces are featured in Brad Wheler's book "Cat Sayings wit and wisdom from the whiskered ones" published in September 2012.
My three entries to the 2012, Richeson 75 International School of Art and Gallery's fine art contest are published in their book "Animals Birds and Wildlife 2012".
Four pieces of my work are featured in the "International Contemporary Artists" art book, volume VIII published by I.C.A. in spring of 2014 and also in "International Contemporary Artists" art book, volume IX published in November, 2014!
I donate original artwork and custom animal portraits to The Fort Collins Cat Rescue and the Rocky Mountain Raptor program which do wonderful things for the animals and raptors in our community. I also donate to local horse rescues, firefighter and victim funds and the Colorado Hunter Jumper Association. It is wonderful to be able to help, albeit in a small way to those in need within our community.
My art is represented at Madison and Main in Greeley, Colorado and Rabbask Boutique and Gallery and The Lincoln Gallery in Loveland, Colorado.
